Default Head and Cam Switch?

I am putting in pi heads and cams on my 97 gt. I need a new intake manifold right? Also if i buy a new intake manifold will that bolt right to the other stock parts or will i need to get more stuff for the original stock parts to bolt up to it?

If you're buying PI heads, get a PI intake.

I was looking at a PI intake manifold from rpmoutlet and then i just read a forum right before i posted this about how bad rpmoutlet is. By PI intake do you just mean intake manifold?

Yeah, intake manifold. They're for sale all over from $150 - $200.

ya, ull need a PI intake cause 97 manifold ports wont line up. but everything else should line up. i believe itll boost ur compression ratio though. so if ur thinking of going sc in the future watch out for that.

Is their any way that i can get the compression down cause i do want to get a supercharger in the future. Also before i do the PI swap i was going to get a 4.6 stroker kit cause my internals are going bad.

What I did is found a 2002 GT motor for 1200 bucks with 20000 miles dropped it in and gained a good bit of horsepower. Later on I replaced the "pi" with the Typhoon intake. And yes RPMoutlet sucks. Just some thoughts.

If you are changing the pistons, then you can change the compression ratio to something blower friendly when you buy the stroker kit. If you are doing a stroker go the Manley 23cc or the Manley 28cc for a 2V blower motor. I'd lean towards the 23cc to get you around a 9.2:1 compression ratio. The 28cc puts it a little too low @ 8.75:1.

if u get the lower compression ratio itll handle the boost better, and u can put more in... also u want a high revving motor if u go with a centri sc(vortec...) not a KB. Cause they only make their boost in the high rpm range. so if u stroke it, itll be difficult to get the high rpms... but i mean... it depends how much u do...

I personally like to add stroke to those motors. It helps with the "soft" bottom end when off boost. RPM is not a concern. My turbo mod motor spun to 9000+ and my brothers record-holding N/A mod motor saw 11,000 on the dyno. All with the same stroker crank.
