Default Help! Engine Running Rough

A couple of days ago my engine started running rough and now the service engine soon light came on. It seems to run fine when it is cold, but after a couple of minutes, it starts to shake the car a little. I'm going to bring it in tomorrow to have it checked, but any clue what it could be?

Is your CEL CES light Flashing? sounds like missfire. Check your Plugs or COP's. Make sure the hoses on tight and not collapsed

The Service Engine Soon was flashing every now and than. I haven't changed the plugs since I got the car (20,000 miles). The car has 111,000 miles on it now so it appears the plugs may now need to be replaced. I already had some, but I haven't gotten the chance to replace them. What's the COP? Coil Over Plugs?

Thanks for the help!

i was having the same problem and still am.
i found oil coming on to one of my spark plugs. my engine has 210xxx miles though and that just happend
so I doubt that would be the problem so young in its life.

I brought the car in on Saturday and the code reader said misfire for cylinders 1 and 5. We changed the spark plugs and found oil on 5 and 6. Number six we drench with oil. My mechanic told me the valve cover gaskets need to be changed to fix that issue.

After all the spark plugs were changed and the codes were cleared out, it was still misfiring on 1 and 5. The mechanic thought it might be the coilovers so he replaced number 1 and switched number 5 and 6. It seemed to work because the car was running smoothly and no SES light was coming on. I don't know why the 5 and 6 switch worked, but it did. He charged me $95 for the coil plug which seemed expensive just one.

Today when I was driving, the SES light came on and it was running slightly rough, but nothing like it was. Do you think the oil fouled the plug? It sounds expensive to redo the valve cover gaskets since it will take all day!

cops(boots) are $4.99each, go to auto zone and buy 7 of threm since you have one new one and change them all.it will take you 10-60 mins to do. i think it a 5/16 nuts(very easy)plugs are a little harder but can be done by a rookie
