Default new engine

hey guys, i am in the middle of pondering a serious situation. So as all of you regulars know im thinking of a swap and i was lookign for a 96-98 cobra engine with low mileage, but i have had some good offers on a couple new edge gt engines, almost too good to pass up.I also talked to a guy with a 98 cobra at the track and he said hed rather have that engine than the one in the cobra for the track because of the powerband. (and when i say track i mean road course). DO you think a 2000 gt engine with 1200 miles for 3 grand is a good deal? and would u go with that over a cobra engine for track racing? I just really want a 4v over a 2v, but what are your guys opinions?

no. why not just do a P.I. swap if your going to stick with two valve heads?? if youre going to spend time on a swap, it would make more sense to go with a four valve.

i fergot to mention this engine has 45 lb injectors and C&L intake and plenum, my engine has too many miles to do a pi swap, and that also raises the compression too much and i plan to supercharge in the futurem which is why i just want the new engine

You can find a good condition PI Engine for around 1k. EVen at 1200 miles, 3k for a 2v engine is completely ludicrous.

EDIT: If you can, try and get a engine from 2003+. They doubled the threads in the sparkplugs in 2003, which kept them from blowing out and having to be helicoiled.

+1 if your dropping 3g's on a stock 2v PI motor you can find a nice condition 4v motor for that.

3K is complete rape for a 2v motor.

With 3k you should be able to get a good, low mileage 2v motor, along with a set of aftermarket cams and full boltons

I see PI engines go for less than that brand new. You can spend $3,000 on a 4V or spend $1,500 on a low mileage PI engine.
