Gears, Suspension, Tires, off road mid-pipe, and a tune. Best way to start off your mustang. Those are undoubtedly the most bang for your buck modifications to start out with.

For actual power, nothing will do it like a blower. Just start saving and get a Vortech on there. As far as performance in general, what was stated above is correct. The only thing he missed was brakes. DO NOT forget them. It's nice to drive fast and handle nicely, but if you can't stop, well, just ensure your life insurance is paid up

i'd have to agree with all of those. i think new gears was the best upgradei made at first. the stock gears are terrible for performance, i'm sure Ford only has them in there for the EPA fuel economy ratings. i'd also recommend a cold-air intake from someone like K&N or BBK. that will help the engine breathe a little better. you might also go with a new throttle body and upper intake plenum, but i'd do the gears, mid-pipe, cold air induction, and tuner first.

Tim

3.73 rear gears, longtube headers, O/R midpipe, CAI, Trick Flow intake, and a good set of sticky tires.

Change the engine oil, front and rear tranny fluids, pcv valve, fuel filter, air filter (or get a CAI). ok these aren't power mods, sorry, but a good idea nonetheless. don't mean to insult your intelligence, but some people do not think to do basic maintenance before doing other things.

when i was in high school i worked at an oil change shop, and i think the number 1 thing that can end an engine's life prematurely is not changing the oil and filterat the right intervals. some people think they can go 6000 miles between oil changes, and then they wonder why they start to have engine problems.
