I LOVE GEARS, THEY KICK ***! My 3.73s are awesome, I havent even put it to the floor yet(taking it easy on them) and its still quicker then before. I can't wait to hit the local strips once she's broken in! I bought a motive rear end rebuild kit and its awesome, I dont have MPP gears, but the rebuild kit is great.

You shouldnt need it, but to save yourself possible problems in the future, I would get it. Your new gears may not mesh well with the old components, so replacing them now (for only $90), you will save yourself a lot of money in the future.

Cant wait to order my 4.10's in a few weeks. Going to be nice having them in a car with OD. My Monte Carlo used to scream at 65 with only 3 on the collum. HEH

Ive got the 3.90s and love em. I went from the stock 2.73s to those and the diff. was amazing. But Ive had em for a few months now and they're not enough anymore so, Im looking at a new engine from McAllister Bros. Racing. My gears are Motives and don't hardly make any noise or vibrate. There is just barely any noticeable whine, but nothing above the radio. I paid a mech. to install and he made sure they were dialed in and all the good stuff. If you're gonna do em yourself Id make sure you have some help from somebody that knows what theyre doing. There are plenty of stories about guys gettin their gears in and they roar or vibrate.

I personally have 4.10 and love them... they can be used in any situation (some sy no more than 3.73 - 3.90 for supercharged and such) but many use super/turbo or nitrous on 4.10 even 4.30

as sandcraker said the higher the # the more accelleration but lower top speed with 4.10 you will get roughly 110 out of 4th and are still capable of around 145 if i'm remembering correctly (been a while since i maxed it out)

you will not need a tune to fix your speedo, however you will need some way of doing this. A speedcal works well and is a quick self install, a tune will work, but if thats all your getting it for its much more money speedcall caost 90-100$

Actually it all depends on your mods. For a stock GT with just 4.10's... I would say that 140-145 is a fair estimate. Ive had my car up to 155 on the highway with 4.10's and was very pleased because you are suppose to "run out of gear" at 168 mph with boost.

4.10's and you can still get to 140 mph on a stock GT? wow i didnt even know that... i was thinkin 3.73's so i could still have an alrite top end, but if 4.10's can still get you to 140+, then 4.10's it is . i Do some highway driving as well but ive read alot about the 4.10's and people say they should still be alrite.
