[align=left]My buddy is thinking of buying a 97 cobra, but he is told it has a rod knocking or something the guy actually doesn't know. Isn't it commom for cobra to have a rear main seal knocking? Would this be the problem maybe. The car has 83k miles. Thanks for your input.

Never known a main seal to create a knock..they just leak. It sounds like a rod bearing or wrist pin. I've also run accross motors that had so much carbon build-up on the piston that it would knock.

 

Yeah I just wasn't sure it was a big deal, I'm thinking it is tho.
