02 Gt starts then stalls with po340 code ?!
 

I just recently bought an 02 gt. After i've been driving it for a day or 2, Ive noticed that after I drive it its very hard to start. It will start then just die and stall immediatley. The only way to get it to start sometimes is to hit the gas while starting it. Also the check engine light came on and is showing po340 - camshaft position sensor faulty. We already replaced the sensor with a new one and it did not fix the problem. I have no idea whats wrong with it.. The dealer is going to try replacing the ECU but I dont think that will fix it either. Did I buy a lemon???????

Have your alternator tested. There's been a bunch of guys on here with the same problem and it was their alternator.

Yep check the alternator also maybe one of the cores in your battery went bad. I think that might cause it too!

I agree with prior posts. It happened to me. I replaced two cam shaft sensors and the code kept coming back. After doing some research I saw that a bad alt could cause the cam sensors to throw that code. Got a new alternator and I was good to go!

well the dealer is putting a new ecu in for me right now.. and its under warranty.. so im just gonna let them do that first. but if its still messed up after that, which im sure it will be, ill be getting a new alternator. Thanks guys! =)
