Default strut tower problem

i have a 97 cobra and i recently put on a bbk cai. the problem is that my strut tower brace is digging into the side of the mass air tube and acctually grinding into it. if it doesnt stop im afraid it will cut a whole into in. do you think i could sand down my strut tower so it wont rub anymore? i put in some padding but it doesnt seem to help any. any info would be great. thanks

This is a common problem with strut tower braces and aftermarket intakes.

You could notch the strut tower brace but you are going to create a flex point in a funny place and may affect the fuction of the strut brace.
