When it starts to get hot outside my dash starts to pop. It pops when I am driving, push on the steering wheel, push in the clutch or just run over a bump. It only does it in the summer time when it is hot. After it cools down it doesn't do it any more. It happens maybe two to three times a day. Any ideas what could be causing this.

 

Everything inside our cars is plastic, and the heat likes to give it hell. It's normal, and I don't think i've ever been in a Mustang (up to the s197) that hasn't had a squeaky, popping, and creaking interior structure. It's the nature of the beast, man.

Some people have actually taken some of the more troublesome and noisy areas apart and put 3M double sided tape behind them to keep the panels more firmly in place. Just a thought if it bothers ya that much.
