Default Instructions on installing a CAI.

I am almost 18 and I have a 1999 GT that I want to make faster, I am going to buy a K&N FIPK and i was wondering if anyone could walk me through installing it on my own.

That one is a piece of cake. It's almost self explanatory. Just look at it.

Take out air filter at the MAF, and just clamp in your new filter. Don't forget to reset your computer by disconnecting the battery of the car for about 10 minutes.

It actually comes with really descriptive instructions (complete with pics) FYI. The only semi-caveat is getting the doggone rubber piece to fit around the metal shield that holds the filter – you will need to cut it once at the 90 degree bend (once you receive it and have inspect the parts you’ll see what I’m talking about) in order to get a good fit.

You're right...most directions are written by monkeys with typewriters. You have to disconnect the battery so that the computer will properly read the new signal from the MAF. Most don't do this, and as a result, they see diddly results, and they come running to the forums saying CAI are a myth.
