Default stronger IRS

i want to get some drag radials for my 99 cobra, but from what i hear, tires with that much traction can cause to IRS and the axles to snap with a good jump. A friend told me about these "monster spine axles" or something that i need to get that will strengthen them so they wnt break. does anyone know where i can find them because ive looked everywhere

I don't think I'd worry to much about breaking a half shaft with a stock 99. If your blown, different story. You also have to be smart, you can't drop the clutch at 4000 RPM with slicks on, because then you'll have problems. One piece of advice, if you start to spin the tires and feel any kind of wheel hop with drag radials on you better get off it or you'll have to be towed home.

I take my car to the track with Nittos on my 03 and I'm pushing 454 to the ground. I never dump the clutch above 2000 RPMs. I've been playing with the perfect launch (under low RPM) so I don't break an axle, but if I do, I'll be upgrading. Good luck.
