Default Stupid Mid-Pipe Question

I am looking at getting a Mid-Pipe in a few weeks and I am leaning towards the SLP catted X.

I looked on American Muscle and checked out the install instructions. They mentioned having to remove the studs from the old "down pipe" which from looking at the pics is one of the exhaust manifolds.

Is this actually needed with the SLP catted X? Do you need to remove the old studs from the manifolds?

Default RE: Stupid Mid-Pipe Question

I just put in a Mac O/R H a couple days ago. When you take the nuts off th studs that hold the stock h pipe to the manifolds, I just slid the new h pipe back on the old manifold studs and I really think that will be fine. You could replace those manifold studs but it may be a pita.
