Default CEL Question

I recently installed a bbk o/r x pipe for shorties(without cats) on a 2000 GT. I bought the MIL Eliminators thinking I would need them for a check engine light. After I installed the mid pipe and started it up I never got a CEL. Do I still need to install the MIL's or don't I need them since I never got a CEL. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If the CEL is not on, then you don't need to use the eliminators. How long did the car run for though? It might take a little time for the light to trigger but I would guess if you drove it a few miles it would be on by now.

The car has to go through a couple of warm up/cool down cycles in order for the o2 sensors to tell the PCM exactly what is going on. It will not happen immediatly, it might take a day, it might take a week, it has nothing to do with how many miles you have driven. But I assure you it will come on, (as long as the car hasnt been previously tuned for the rear 02's to be shut off) Cliffyk will probably chime in here soon with exactly how it all works.

+1

It's going to happen eventually... It might take awhile, but yes, it's going to come on.
