Default New thread...quick question

Instead of continuing my previous "Stick vs Auto" thread, I've decided on a stick and now i have a different question that came up. I found a nice mustang but the only thing that's holding me back is that the car is modded. The car is a 2003 mustang (100 anniver edition, 5spd, 36k)being sold from the dealership with BBK intake and a borla exhaust with x pipe, and maybe other mods that the dealer is unaware of. My cocern is that since the car has been modded it is likely that that the previous owner beat on the car. Plus the setup that he has now is not exactly what I would want in the future anyway. So my main question is do you think its better holding out for a completly stock car or is a modded car in theory fine, and I'm just freaking out over nothing?

you have reason to freak over the mods. I would ask to have an individual mechanic do a complete inspection of the car if you really want the car. Or you can take the price and start slashing into the price since it has been previously modded and therefore cannot be listed in anything but fair or below depending on how many mods is on it.

first off....if the dealer told you its an 03 and a 100 anniversary car.....you might want to ask him how thats possible....when i have an 04 and they are 40th anny's.

i personally wouldnt want to buy a heavily modded car, unless i was able to get a good extended warranty with it. then i prob would.

im hessatant about bying a car that has mods on it. no.1 you dont know how it was treated, and no. 2(doesnt apply in your case as much) you dont know if it was quality workmanship So id deffinatly be carefull when buying a "not stock" car but i wouldnt worry a whole lot if thats all thats done to it.

I've seen them. A buddy's Dad had an '03 triple black GT. All that was differant was the "100" badge on it. [8D]
