Default Spec Clutch problems

So recently a friend of mine with a 2000 Gt installed a Spec stage 1 clutch and Spec lightwieght flywheel. Mind you this is nothis first clutch install by far.As soon as he taking off the clutch chatters( vibrating feel)and then goes away while driving. It's got about 200 miles on it now and still chatters. He just wants to know if anyone else has run into this problem. The Spec Co. is out for awhile on vacation so he can't get in touch with anyone there for help. Thanks in advance guys!

ive heard alot of people say that there spec clutch would chatter intill about 500 miles. spec says 500 miles is the break in time and dont down shift, power shift or shift above2500 rpm till broken in. ill find out in a couple of weeks now that i have the money to have my spec clutch and flywheelinstalled.

According to Spec directions is 500 mile break in and no powershifting and hard launches. Didn't say anything else,But i'll tell him the news cause he's about to put his King Cobra clutch back in. Thank you.

I had the same thing. You need to drive it nicely fora while and let it break-in. I helped it along a little by slipping it very slowly atidle and letting the two surfaces barely touch, engine starts to slow and strain at idle and held it forcouple secs.

I just picked up my Spec Stage2 clutch and waiting for my Fidanza aluminum flywheel to come in. I'm not looking forward to having it in now if it's this bad for you guys.

stage 2 is fine trust me. I know poeple putting out 600ft lb or torque at the wheels on a nitrous hit with the stage 2 and it hold up on them.

the stage 1 (like I have) is the one you need to avoid. IMO Fidanza, Centerforce, Ram, or bust

Ill never buy anythign from Spec again Ill tell you that...
