Hey my friend has a 2005 eclipse. its a gs with the 2.4 in it. i have never in my life road in anything so slow. i know some guys who have the older eclipses and they are quick but htis car is a snail. why

First of all retard, this is the TECH section, not general discussion. Even at that, this should be in the O/T section.

Why is his car so slow? Probably due to the fact that it has a 2.4? It's probably not much slower than your 96GT unless you have a PI swap.

Have you ever heard of Google.com? It's a pretty cool web site where you can actually search for usless information (such as this) and get answers.

So please, dont clutter forums with pointless questions about imports.

People on here take things very seriously. I understand your concern on being slow (which most eclipse's are) but next time post this in the O/T forum. For your answer the reason why it is so slow is the power to weight ratio. Its mainly the torque, if you have driven a V8 mustang fora while and then go to something with 100ft/lbs less of torque you are going to notice a difference. Also the gearing in those cars are different. Hopefully that helps you out some.
