Default Power window problem

Passenger window wasn't going up or down from either switch.
SO FAR THIS IS WHAT I HAVE DISCOVERED.
1. It wasn't the motor
2. It wasn't the switch

So, I was at the local Autozone and a shade tree mechanic diagnosed that one of the wires (white one on passenger side) was not getting the current from the driver side, so he spliced from the blue one over to the white on on the passenger switch and the window works fine, no new motor or no new switch.
NOW.. the driver side switch have no control over the passenger side window. Supposely this white wire is not carrying whatever over to the passenger side is the reason he had to splice. I am a NEWBIE so can anyone give me more insight on how to aproach a solution, or even your thoughts on the current " jimmie rig" that's now in place, other than dealer re-wiring.

Thanx guys and gals that are out there!!

My friend is having a similar problem with this 86 GT. The passenger side window will roll up, but not down.
