Default plan B!

so my motor and trans are destroyed ( see My MUSTANG EXPLODED!) Im really upset because it should not have broken the way it did one small break stand and the car is totaled just makes me want to loose faith in mustangs. but now im stuck with this car and need to fix it. I want to replace the motor and trans with that of a supercharged cobra. dose anyone know where i can find a good used motor/trans? or dose anyone know of a place that converts gts to cobras? I have heard rumors of such a place in texas but im not sure. any help would be great! oh and if anyone has a better idea on how to fix this let me know im open to all sugestions. this is my daily driver and i do have a drag car allready so im not looking to strip it out and build another drag car allthough I probly should.

thanks

I read your other post and must say thats a very odd thing to happen unless you were all out ***** to the wall and standing on it.And youre very lucky could have ended up like don garlits and be missing half a foot.

As for the swap its going to be expensive and very time consuming which equals big money at a shop for labor. As for a motor id just start searching the net or depending on your location the local salvage yards good luck though not many 03-04 cobras ever sitting in the boneyards that ive seen.

If money is no object go with the ALUMINATOR that thing is insane!

assuming that cost is a concern, build a stroked motor(nitrous) with a t56. you should be able to get out of the deal way cheaper than a termie powerplant transplant.

that actually isn't that expensive for what you're getting... mightnot be a bad investment, they come in 10:1 compression for like 5600 and 8.5:1 for s/c applications for like $6400, it the termi engine with an aluminum block and no blower.

If you have the know how to work on the engine yourself you can build the Aluminator yourself for $3000. Shop Ebay people are always sell parts for cheap cause they don't know what they are.
