This really depends on what the bore and stroke is your setup. You can have 300 RWHP to 400 RWHP even 500 RWHP depending on you setup, cams, tune, etc. Who knows. This is such a vague question so i can only give you a vague answer.

400 and 500 horsepower aint happenin 2v n/a. and hopefully the OP is talking about just a 5.4 motor. not a 4.6 with a 5.4 crank because the rod ratio would be absolutely rediculous.

if you want a 5.4 na modular with that power level you will probably be looking at a compression ratio that will require race gas, i.e. over 12.5:1, race ported fr500 heads, sheetmetal intake manifold, and some custom ground cams. i would say over a 15,000 dollar build, but to each his own.

right now i have a pi 4.6 that i was going to build N/A, but all 4.6 n/a's ive see is at the max around 400wrhp, thats just not enough for me. what would you recomend for me. i really dont want to spend the $ for a supercharger kit. should i just get a 351 stroked to a 408, would that be my best bet for my goals? any information will be helpfull.

ive personally never seen nor think its possible to attain a 400 hp na 2v. a 408 stroker would probably get you to your goal a little cheaper but its still gonna cost a pretty penny. i assume you would be ok with switching to a carbureated setup, as you are gonna spend another good chunk of change on a standalone setup to run fuel injection on a 408.

You dont want to spend the money on a supercharger but you want to try to build a NA 500hp modular? Which do you think will cost more? Let me give you a hint, NA build will cost more.

To make 500 NA RWHP you will need a 351 cid modular (see MMR) with P&P 4v heads, high compression, Big boy cams and meth/water. The shortblock build alone would pay for a supercharger, fuelsystem and dyno tune alone.

so far and as far as I know thru research and asking the right people(machinist) due to the geometry of the 5.4 there isn't much of a stroke you can do to it. the question is, is it enough to even make a difference?

15:1-15.5:1 compression will do it.
