I have a 2000 stock Mustang GT and I changed out my spark plugs on friday moring along with my idler pulley. When I put everything back together and closed the hood getting ready to go to work , I tried to start the car and a puff of white smoke came from under the hood , and the tailpipes. smells like fuel. I think i made a mistake of spraying compressed gas down in the spark plug hole. is there any fix to my problem. I sprayed the compressed gas in there to get the sand and dirt out. Its also making a loud popping noise. Is there a possiblity that it could be a coil pack? I have the coil on plug and it doesnt want to stay alive when i get it started is there any way to test them?

nope when its cranked no ses light is on

 

Make sure all the spark plugs are tight if not they come lose and push the coil up it sound like a popping nosie

 

Then it is unlikely that you have a bad coil. Does the car run?

 

It runs for like a second. when I put my foot on the gas it dies down

 

And the SES light isnt on when the car is running?

 

nope

 

to test coils u can just start with any coil and unplug the wire going to it and if it runs worse then the coil works but if u unplug one and if it still runs the same then the coils prolly bad..

 

Always use a torque wrench set between 11-13 ft. lbs
