whats up guys,

well i have a 01 gt with around 61,000 miles on it,
and one day as i was driving home, the battery light on my dash was on.

i ignored it for a few days thinking it was a loose cable or something,
but then one day as i am on my way to work, the car just started sputtering, and i couldnt drive over certin rpm's first nothing over 4k then 3k then 2k then 1k rpms till my car died.
i thought, may be my battery is dead, since my friend came to me on the side of the freeway and jumped it, but it started then died within 10 seconds.
so i went to autozone and got a new battery, the car started fine, and it ran for the rest of the day but the little battery light on the dash was still on..... why??? do i have to reset it or is there something else wrong with my battery? right now i have the battery disconnected and havent used the stang since i have another car.(i am worried it will happen again since the light is still on)

any help would be awsome!!!

i would check the alternator. that sounds like your problem, not the battery.

 

I agree with 945LSTANG , it sounds like an alternator problem, if you take it to autozone they should be able to test it for you.

 

totally the altenator but you might still have to recharge the battery

 

yeah i was wondering about that, i guess i am gonna have to take it off and take it into autozone,

Had similar issue, twas the Alt.!!!

 

get a new alternator and optima battery (i swear by them now)
