ok.. well i had my driver wheel airbag go off. now i am faced with paying 1600+$ to fix it. Can i just buy another fr500 steerwheel and replace it or what? This is a huge eye sore since the one currently is ripped in half!.. Anyways, its a pleasure car, so i feel i would be satisfied just replacing the steeringwheel, even though yeah its not the proper way and its less safe.

 

in my eyes airbags arent very safe in these vehicles anyway. so just swap for a non airbag wheel and call it done. you can deactivate the airbag light via a tuner.

 

I ordered a fake cover from Hicks air bag covers. It looked great and you couldn't tell it was fake

Also you might want to check a local junkyard and see if you can find an Airbag from a SN-95 or New Edge Mustang and just transplant them.

 

yeah if u dont put one in there will always be a code stored in the restraint control module, and i would think u would have to disclose theres no airbag in there when u sell it. Or pretend u had no idea lol

maybe you might remember me from a couple months ago.. but yeah im back..

almost traded in for an 04 cobra, but i turned around and decided to save for a future vehicle. its been an intense mess. i had just converted my 03 gt (which is my pleasure ride, my garage queen) from the stock front end to the 03/04 cobra front, it looked BEAUTIFUL, I just got some adjustable shocks and struts and cut my springs, just for fun while i waited for the h&r supersports. any whom about 4 months later i got snapped off by a car on a very late, dark night.. and it was either; a wall or me making an attempt to pull a left turn drifting partially over a curb. My front end was so damn low I ripped off the entire cobra kit, busted the fog light on that side, some how one of my head lights cracked.. I was left with a badly dented 18x9 front passenger side saleen rim, i was pissed, no front end- and my airbags both went off. i went from spending about $2,000 for the front end to be beautifully modded, to spending about overall $5,500 to finish it back up. i just got the car back! yay! i redid the entire paint job with a couple coats of midnight blue with some purple pearlex type ordeal in it, and i think 3 coats of clear. the car looks amazing, and the only thing im waiting on now are my fog lights again i took off all the old chrome saleen rims and caught an awsome deal on the same ones but all black , i cannot wait to get them on. It was either those or spending some more money and getting some ct-r.. anyway im not looking for a new steerwheel to put in there since the airbag ripped through it? any suggestions pics?

i spent all my KB s/c money on this repair so i mean now, im just kind of waiting on the next steps, i might just mod the motor and s/c down the road. i mean i paid the gt off and i wouldnt mind keeping her around shes stuck at 55k miles, so i mean shes a young gun.

o yeah and my Service Engine Soon light is on b/c the airbags right? i have my tuner i just use that to shut it off correct?
