Default ****from 97 4.6 gt to a 97 4.6 cobra swap****

Does anybody know if i where to swap from a 4.6 to a 97 4.6 cobra s/c, will this fit? Could i use my original 5spd instead of the cobra 5spd? Im doing the swap this week, i dont know if i should get the trans or not...

why wouldnt it fit? its the same body.

your 5 speed should bolt right up.

Yes everything will bolt right up. No need to get the Cobra T45 actually you dont want it because it won't bolt up to your trans crossmember.

Not going to Woodward this year. To many Minivans and SUV's cruise Woodward and ruin it. But I think I'm gonna go to 28th st cruise the following weekend.

yeah they are right, but if you're gonna heavily mod ur car get rid of the t-45 both the GT and Cobra ones are junk and USUALLY dont last long unless you're close to stock power.. i had to say usually because u'll find someone with the factory freak t-45 thats handling like 500 whp.

Like mentioned, you everything will match up fine. But start saving for a new tranny as you will need to upgrade to a TKO 500/600 or a T56. T45 are just crap for GT power and super crap for Cobra power.

hey ppl i am about to pull out the motor out my cobra witch is easiest with or with out tranny ?
And is it hard ?
