anybody got a predator tuner? ive had mine about 2 weeks and set it to full firmness and turn off torque modulation(shift feels alot better). will this shorten my at life? what a safe timing advance and safe fuel mixture. i left fuel alone but advanced timing 2%.i dont hear any detonation but the damn thing is so loud inside i could be not hearing it. 04 mustang gt

I've asked a bunch of these questions to Diablo and really havn't got that much feedback that stears me in the right direction. I have a auto to and YES, changing the shifting firmness drastiaclly change the way the car handles. As for turning the tourq modulator
off, I have no idea if it hurts the trans. or not. I do know changing the shifting firmness will extend the life of your tranny if you don't mind the hard shifts. I like it that way and it barks the tires in 2nd just like the sticks do. I've played around w/ all 3 setting on the tourg mod. and havn't come up w/ my favorite yet. I know putting it on stock seems to wind the engine alittle more. Turning it off doesn't alow it to at all. I wish I knew if that is good or bad. Im trying to find a place locally that handles chipmaster to retune the tune Predator has already given us for the mods I've put on. Have you done this yet? You will get alot of different answers on the predator in this forum, especally on the timing. Your 2% is not 2 degrees. I also think they said the max will only get you 12 degrees. That just doesn't seem right when your car is already running stock 10 degrees. I was hoping to turn mine up to 14, but seeing I can't get a straight answer on the actual timing advance, I play it safe w/ 4-6 %. Please email me if you can figure this accurately out

I literally just bought one (on the internet) for my 00 GT conv. (manual tranny) I just put on a Magnaflow X-pipe and Magnapacks as well as an Accufab Throttle Body/Plenum combo. I also put in 3.90 gears. I was hoping to use the Predator to get the most out of those mods (and make my spedo useful again).

Is the 3.90 in the tune ??? Im sure if it's not, you can get a download from predator. I've never went past the 3.73 setting, so I don't know. If you figure out the timing or the air/fuel ratio, please share. I think it's crap that there's not a real tuning guide to this.
I've tinkered, but usually end up running to rich. Plus, you have to make 2 to 3 seperate changes for dif. RPM. I havn't got it right yet. I usually default back to the org predator tune. I've run small increments of rich and lean and have got some results. Let me know if you have any success.

hey thanks for the info. i did bump it to 4% once but got a little scared so i backed it to 2%.the car did act a little funny when i had it @4
but i believe it was my fipk tubing that was deformed by the throttle body. the tube actually looked like a pacman.wierd uh.ill keep playin and let you know. the first time i put the tune in it felt like i was in a funny car (not really but it woke it up)now it doesnt feel so fast but im just getting use to i guess. that why these aftermarket people are business the need for speed.

Make sure you running premium gas. I run 93/94. Another post said turning it up 10 percent would advance you to 12 degrees. I need to get ahold of Diablo and verify that's
factual. Im sure it is, I just don't want to take a chance.
I wonder if you can see w/ the live feed what your cars timing actually is. DOES ANYONE KNOW THIS ????????

i did live feed back on the all three tunes stock, pred tune, and modify tune and the timing at idle was 18-20 flucuating on all three.what im trying to say its the same on all three tunes @ idle i did live feedback while running down the street and that %%%% jumps all over the place so i could not tell you can go to www.diablosport.com and download software that takes live feedback and turns it into a graph(dyno type)which i have not done to get a better look at timing got to have the pc interface though or go to radio shack and pick up the serial cord that will fit the predator

I need to do the same thing. Let me know. I have never done a live feed why the car is started. how does that work. Im afraid of frying it. Poor instructions from the manual.
Also, you said 18-20 degrees. Isn't that to hi, how does that work. I want 14 degres, but
I thought the predator could only go to 12. Explain if you don't mind.

well im not sure how that works. factory is set @ 10 so i was expecting that during live feed back on the factory tune @ idle but it was showing spark advance to be 18-20 so it beats me to do live data just plug in predator go through normal steps to where diagnostics tab is data logging, pick the fuel tab, then view all data or select specific, then after that just fire it up
