Default Sct x3

I've done a pi swap and stage 1 comp cams, new built motor with 10.1 compression, full boltons and full exhaust, but i've never tuned it. The car is very fast, but would the X3 handheld tuner give me much more power? Everntually im going to dyno tune. How important is tuning? (its an auto)

you will see huge gains with your mods and the fact that it is an auto, the transmission tuning alone is amazing, not to mention the power you will gain with your setup

Cool thanks. THen i dont know what have been waiting on lol. I seen in AmericanMUscle.com that they can tune it for you as a mail n order tune. Would that be better than the preloaded tunes? Or should i mess with the tuner myself?

be cautious buying from american muscle...brenspeed alerted me (and i unfortunately found out) that AM still has the older versions of the X3 which I had ALOT of problems with, i went through so much to get the firmware updated correctly i wish i wouldve got an X2.

However, you would prob be safe buying from brenspeed as they have updated thier inventory to only the X3 and no longer the X2.

And as i have seen people swearing by brenspeeds tunes....i have noticed recently quite a few are swearing by the sniper's; even though steve enjoys his free tunes for life

lol i bought my tune from AM, i have the old firmware, because it came out after i bought my tune, not sure if the new ones do, however, i originally bought the tuner with a custom tune, and got gears so i had to retune it... the new tune seems 100x better... much smoother and more power... IMO buy your tuner from either Brenspeed or AM and let them write you a custom tune... like enro says, every time i get a new bolt-on,AM will send me a new tune, even though i don't have anything left.... but it was worth it when i bought the gears...
