Default Weight reduction... Help please

I have a 96 gt auto vert (i know its 266 lbs over a 5-speed coupe) so i already did my part by losing weight (210 to 180) so now its the cars turn. So far i have eliminated the back seats, back and front bumper, and front swaybar. Thats about 100 lbs and it sure made a good difference. Next i'm going with draglites. 15 x 31/2 upfront and 15 by 8 in the back. That should be at least 120lbs (i have 18 x 10.5 bullits in the back and 18 x 10 upfront) Eventually imma go with the wilwood aluminum brake kit over the ford racing cast iron. Also k-member, a-arms and racing seats. Is there anything else that i can do? I drive the car weekends only.

How about removing the spare tire & related?

Also look at lightweight drycell batteries. Odyssey makes the PC680MJT which is good for automotive use. It weighs about 16 pounds.

I also noticed you have a pretty decent amount of mods. What about a tuner? why don't you get one of those? Looks like it will benefit you since you have all those mods.

Unless you are willing to gut the car removing parts for weight reduction is not worth it. It takes removing 260lbs to gain .1 in the 1/4. So far you have removed less then 100lbs and made your car unsafe. Replacing parts with lighter weight parts is the smarter way to go. Also moving weight from in front of the tranny tail shaft to the rear will be more benifical then just getting rid of it.
