Finally got me a stang last week! 96' GT A/T Convertible all black for $5500 with 73k on it, all stock.

Is it normall for so much heat to come from the center console?, it's too hot in Miami and it's a noticible disconfort [:@], if so, I plan to use some type of insulation.

Also, what is the lifespan on the timming chain? If it were to break before getting to it, would the valves get bent? How much should I expect to pay to change the chain?

Needs a new top and the vinil OEM-like replacements seems cheap enough ($125-$165) but I wanted to find a black canvas top for cheap but haven't seen one for less than $350, any ideas?
