Default MSD digital Window Switch problems cont..(vid)

well i made a thread a while back having problems with my window switch, thought i had it figured out.....

vids will explain (sorry off a camera phone, but you can still see pretty good)

i seen in another thread about people using a diffrent coil pack wire....i was hooked up to coil pack #1 (green wire/white stripe). today i switched it to coil pack #4 (green wire/yellow stripe) and still same problems

i am starting to think it is a faulty switch

Quote from a Corral thread I made a while back asking same thing
I have model 8969 and followed those instructions. I have the RPM Switch powered up and set the parameters(open 3000 close 5500 1 cylinder mode). I spliced into the 26 pin wire(green/white)

I spliced into the #26 pin(I think COP 1). Reads good and never jumps around like that. Recheck your mode and ground and try again. If not perhaps your switch is broken.

im thinking the switch is brokin....

ive tried 2 diffrent style wire splicers and diffrent locations on the green w/white stripe wire and same problem...

how are you tapping into the green w/ white wire?

i had it grounded on one of the shifter bolts (just like my 3 switch panel says to ground it)....now have moved it down by the ECU (made my own hole w/ screw on the bare metal). if it wasent grounded right the switch wouldent even turn on non the less...

Used one of those cheap plastic wal-mart type splitters that splices into the wire and lets you connect it parallel(awesome explanation I know lol).

i believe thats the same one im using now....lol

-its blue (sure there is different colors)
-has one slot where it has a little wall that stops it
- slot right next to it running the same direction the whole way threw
- you close it and pinch a metal clip with two u shaped grooves (one groove for each wire)
-then clip a little arm around it

???

Yep that's it lol. Make sure the main wire from the ECU is properly pinched in there. At first it wasn't reading because it wasn't properly spliced. Get a razor blade and peel off some of the rubber/plastic lining on the wire so you know for sure the actual wire is touching the connector.

What mode do you have it in? Make sure the wires are completely stripped/connected and check all your grounds. I grounded mine to the same bolt where the ECU is grounded. If that doesn't work your switch might be broken, perhaps you can find a local to let you borrow theirs. If you lived in NC I'd let you try mine lol.

ok well take 2....... there was no fcukin around this time, i striaght up scraped the wire covering off coil pack #1 wire and sodered the white wire to it.....

after all that i want to take a baseball bat to my head and the window switch...still same problem

if my ground was not wired right it wouldent even turn on, so as long as it turns on wouldent that mean it is wired correctly?

off topic but where are you picking up your power at? and do you have your yellow wire hooked up to the relay side of the FPSS?
