SRA IRS Drivetrain loss
IRS (as in retrofit) does not necessarily mean aluminum driveshaft, however you raise an interesting point--and that could be that Ford used the aluminum d/s to offset the inherent (and variable) losses in the IRS' CV joints.
Could be a wash, could be a net loss or gain--I've never seen any serious evaluations. Ford certainly has them but I doubt they'll be sharing anytime soon...

I understand, the answer is that if you are road-racing don't worry about it, power loss to the wheels will be offset by much improved handling--and if you are a straight-liner than why are you installing an IRS?
I paid $1,100 for 2004 IRS (10k miles) with brand new Bassani exhaust. I do do some straight line stuff, mostly from a roll because the F-bodies in my area are all gay. Hp wise I'll be in the mid 500's so the loss would be unnoticeable, mostly. I'll be doing all the bushings and braces as well.
Since I'm a convertible I wont be doing any track racing anyway. This was mostly a comfort decision. I drive my car way too much for it to ride like a truck anymore. lol
