I have an 01 GT and I am planning on doing the following. I am going to purchase 4.10 gears, a CAI, and a Diablo Chip. I am getting them all from the same place and the guy who runs the shop is going to put my car on a dyno before and after everything is installed. He will tune everything for me the best he can (this guy knows his mustangs). Let me know what you guys think and how much power you think I will gain. Only current mods are flowmaster mufflers. Let me hear some opinions (Good or Bad). Thanks

Your HP will drop with the 4.10's, but the seat of pants feeling will go through the roof. Are you putting it on a dyno?

Ya the guy who I am buying everything from runs a shop and said he would put it on a dyno and tune everything for me. I knew the HP would drop with the 4.10's but I figured with the CAI and chip I would gain it back and then some and the 4.10's would just let feel the power. Let me know if im right and what you think. Thanks

Are you getting the diablo chip, or the diablosport predator tuner? My advice would be to get the tuner. The performance tune that is already on it is good for about 20hp to the wheels I believe, plus if you are on a dyno, you can tune your timing curve as well as your fuel curve to get more power. Just a thought...

I think the tuner is the way to go as well. I am sure you aren't going to stop modding your car, and the tuner gives you the flexibilty to change your tune. I have a Predator tuner that I am going to sell shortly. I got it for a decent price and I can sell it for a better price if anyone is interested (PM me).

What you are doing sounds like a start. I started with gears, midpipe, catback, and throttle body/plenum. That alone made a decent difference. At some point you are going to need to do the exhaust, so I'd figure a way to do it sooner rather than later. If anything, change the midpipe for performance gains.

you might pick up a few HP, but it won't show much on the dyno. However your throttle response will improve and the 4.10s are fun. Are you an auto or manual?

You're smoking crack if ya think that a preadator will pick up 20 RWHP on a N/A, espcially one that is virtually stock.

BTW, is he gonna "tune everything" or put the chip on and just run it on the dyno. If he isnt gonna acutaly burn a program into your chip, the chip will be virtually useless. I am NOT a big fan of mail order chips. I have a dyno showing mine stealing about 10 RWHP before I turned it off.

Mike- I have an auto

2000GT- I went back to the shop today and talked to the guy...Changed my mind and im going for the tuner. He is going to "tune everything". I wouldnt get the tuner or anything if this guy wasnt going to fully tune everything. The guy that is doing everything who runs the shop has an 03 cobra that runs 10's. Believe me this guy knows his S*** and he has one of the cleanest cobras I have ever seen. Thanks for everyones inputs they have been a huge help.
