Angry Weird Problem?

Hey guys, I have a frustration

I have a 2000 gt 5 spd, with CAI, 70 mm TB, plenum, exhaust, SCT American muscle tune for 91 octane, and 3.73 gears. Here's the thing. It's quick to 40 MPH, but when I shift, all I get is rubber, and after that, it seems really slow getting to the redline from 50 to 60! It really pisses me off. I have a passport g timer, and the best 0-60 i got was 6.3 sec! considering the STOCK GT gets to 60 in 5.7, there is something REALLY wrong here! Is it the 3.73 rear end making the power curve slow?

Please help me out!

Well, for one thing, you may have issues since you are a 5spd getting thru the first two gears, try feathering it thru them if you keep getting rubber. 2. did you do a speedo recalibration, you may want to check into that. Don't know about the slow gain from 50-60.

Sounds like you are experiencing 'bog'. When the tires are spinning the engine is up at a high RPM, then the tires get traction which brings down the RPM below the power range and the car seems slow.

The way to fix that has been stated above, have to feather the throttle and/or clutch and practice.

Have you shut off the traction control?
