Default EGR: GOOD or BAD??

Okay so im just looking around at EGR delete kits and i came across a forum where someone said that EGR delete is more bad then good. Is that true? I really dont plan on getting any gains from deleting it. I just bout finished my engine rebuild and dont wanna put that EGR back on. But if deleting it could cause more bad then good then ill stick it back on.

So does anyone know if deleting the EGR is a bad idea?

ALSO.. I know it, well i heard it will turn the CEL light on. So would i just have a tuner turn that off? OR what are my options to keep that CEL light off (besides putting it back on ha)

Some will argue for and against... Some can even regurgitate stuff from Tech manuals and Dictionaries for or against it.

I noticed No difference, I run a lot of timing and I have great numbers without it.

Engine bay looks great cleaned up without it.

IMO takin the EGR off would do more good than bad HP wise, instead of recuriculating Exhaust Gas for better emissions and heating up your intake. you'll be bringing in fresh air with a cooler charge thus making more HP.

Can you still pass the "Sniffer" test when you go through inspection with out the EGR?

egr slows down the combustion process by taking the place of the fresh air coming into the chamber, thus reducing the amount of o2 to burn , it then reduces torque cause of the slower burn, so get rid of it , its only for emissions concerns

You can google EGR delete kit or EGR block off plate.. and you'll get lots of hits. Some only come with the block off plate so watch out. You want the one with the plate and cap for the header port.
