Question 400whp

So...I blew up my engine. I wont get into the details of it, but lets just say it was a series of unfortunate events. I have a 2003 mustang gt vert. I am getting a stock 4.6sohc to replace my stock one. I have a Vortech V1 (just rebuilt) w/ a power pipe, shorty headers, o/r h, slpII's, accufab 75mm tb and plenum, spec stage 2 clutch, aluminum flywheel, 4:10's, lca's, lowering springs. Now with a decent tune can i expect to get 400whp and will i be able to run mid to low 12 with my dr's. I don't want to make anymore than that cuz of the stock engine itself but just want to know if i can get those number without anymore parts. Also will my rev limiter increase at all with the flywheel.

You should be able to run mid to low 12's in reverse w/ 400rwhp. what size are your DR's? i say you should be there easily. i would forge it while it's out and that way you can turn up the boost later.

+1, I wish i would have done that first. Now i will have to take the engine apart for the second time.

Listen to what he says, this is goint to save you alot of time and possibly money!(don't know if you are doing it youself of having it done)

No i'm not doing it myself, i am having radical racing up in atco, nj do it for me. I wasn't planning on anything happening to the engine just yet it only has 31k on the thing. So now money is tight and the wifey is pissed. I was planning on getting the engine biult but just not now, i just got the vortech on and was going to get it tuned then all this **** happened. So am am just trying to get back to square one with this car. $4k for the engine, flywheel, put the clutch in that i had already, headers and accufab tb/plenum and dyno pulls oh and put the vortech on this new engine after the vortech is rebuilt. And no the vortech was not the cause of the damaged engine. it was pfm that engine was destroyed.
the DR are Nitto 555's 275's. p.s. i am not impressed with them at all

With a non intercooled vortech, and an otherwise stock engine, expect 370-380ish rwhp @10psi. With an intercooler or meth, and more timing expect dam near 400rwhp.

At 12psi, intercooled expect 420ish.

It should go mid 12's with a 2.0ish 60' which is more than possible on drag radials. Don't expect 11's without a really good hook on drag radials or some slicks.

well if i get 370-380whp, i will be happy. I really am looking to have a reliable enough stang with the mods that i have for now. Once this mess is done with, i am looking at the brakes next.

Shoot for a 11.6- 11.8 or so air fuel ratio, and if no meth a wot timing in the 17ish area
