Default rear axle dampener bracket

I was just wondering if theres any noticable difference if this is removed. they are the brackets at the ends of the rear axle thats clamped on with an exhaust clamp. Im doing a brake job so everythings apart anyways, plus it would look a lot cleaner without it there, but if its not good to take it off ill keep it on...thanks guys

I know what your talking about. I believe it holds the brake shield on or supports the caliber bracket i can't remember. I was gonna take mine off aswell but got lazy and left it on.
