Default Differential cover replacement

my differential cover is leaking because the retards bent it while installing my gears, how hard is it to replace and refill it? is it worth it to buy an upgraded one of the steeda or other brand or just buy an OEM?

....Really not hard! Just drain the pumpkin, clean the mounting area up real good, I button the cover up with silicone, add 2 quarts of fluid & friction mod...done!

Aftermarket cover making the draining & filling a lot easier...+looks good! ...you'll need about 3 quarts with aftermarket cover

I would do the aftermarket. It won't be as much of a bitch to change the fluid then.

Good luck holding down your cookies if you haven't smelled rear end oil!

That stuff smells like eggs that have been rotting for 5 years mixed with the fattest, smelliest chick that you can imagine.

Ehhhhhhhh. Maybe it's just me. haha

Christ, it's not that bad. I have smelled worse things. Just do what Timspony suggested if you can afford an aftermarket cover. I just put a TrickFlow cover on mine. It has a support for the bearing caps as well as being able to change the fluid w/o removal.

This is what the Trickflow cover will look like on your car:

whats the point of going aftermarket? crap, it's not like it does anything useful and your only going to change the dang fluid like once every 50k miles..and thats if your on the ball. I bet many people probably NEVER change the rear end fluid and drive it 200k or more miles just fine, and thats with the stock crap in it..most of us use redline and royal purple oil.
