Default Can i install my oil pan gasket and windage tray kit

can i install my oil pan gasket and windage try with out removing the engine ..

i think there is little space that i can remove the oil pan gaskit and insert new one ..

do any body do this before .. ? iam planning to order an windage tray it say that they will give my stang 15 to 18 hp any body try this ?

I have one installed on my motor but I did it while the engine was on a stand. it may be feasible but you will be dropping the K member because you have to remove the oil pan to bolt in the windage tray

Yes, you can do it in the car. It's a pain, but you can do it.

That 15-18hp is only at the top end. And that's best case, not average. Don't expect a noticable change.

How exactly does some pos windage tray give you horse power? if someonem wouldn't mind explaining please?

It has to do with the oil splashing onto the crank during higher rpms I think... That causes a parasitic loss...

Our cranks sit high enough that you'll see little benefit. I had one ready to put in my short block and did not like the idea of having to use silicone to seal it between tray and block

I have one sitting in the garage. I decided not to use it but I got it for free with my canton pan.

You will have to drop the Stock kmember to get the oil pan off. You also have to pull off the pickup and modify it to run a windage tray.

fully skirted blocks see little benefit from windage trays.

Yes, you can do it in the car. It's a pain, but you can do it.

does that mean i can replace both gasket and windage tray while the engine in the car or out ..or it is just the gasket i can change it .. sorry i did not understand ..
