Default HELP!!

my car started acting funny yesterday. It hesitates and becomes real rough when in low rpms in a higher gear. I can hear it in the exhaust too Also, if i give it much throttle it does the same thing. It's completely fine cruising down the highway at 2k rpm in 5th. I tuned it back to stock with the predator and need to know what to do. I was thinking possibly the fuel filter or a plug or somthing... could this also be a MAF related issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any experience with the predator tunes, but if you changed the tune, and then this started happening, I would put that down as the problem.

Have you checked the codes? has it thrown any? How much have you driven it? for a missfire code to throw a cylinder has to miss a pre determined number of times.

Also, just out of curiousity, where did you get gas from last? and what octane did you pump?

I filled up with 93 octane gas the day before this happened. My predator was tuned in the performance tune the same as it has been for several months. When the problem first started I tuned it back to stock and the problem persisted and steadily got worse. Today the car finally threw a check engine light but it was for my offroad x-pipe which I installed months ago and never threw a light then. Right now I am trying to reset the computer and I think I will clean the MAF sensor and take it from there... There have been no missfire codes thrown as of now.

Ah, predator isn't like SCT I take it then? no custom tunes? I know a custom tune will fix this problem, otherwise you just have to drive it, and the car will figure it out on its own. I'm serious...

so as long as I do not get a code thrown for a missfire and it doesn't get worse it will fix itself?

Your COP's could possibly be going. Pull them and look for cracks in the boots that attach to the plugs, moister could be getting in the boots causing arking or replace the COP's all together.

Yessum, I've ran into this problem before. The car will adjust itself, or at least it did in my case, and I know I've gotten the same feedback from other people.

Mine had bad hanging RPMS and a messed up idle, when you pressed the clutch to shift the tach would sit there for a few seconds before responding. The guy drove it for a week until the next weekend when I could take another look at it and the problem was gone. I have also heard a few times a custom tune will fix this problem instantly.

It's like if you hit the rev limiter, the car purposely idles poorly.
Ford service manual - "Let the car idle for 10 minutes, and return to customer"

These cars are remarkably good at pulling themselves together, as long as the problem isn't obviously getting worse, or throwing a code.

Thankyou for the replies. I assume by COP you mean "Coil On Plug" Anyone know where I can find some instructions on how to change them??? I'm kinda new to doing my own work..
