I would say the 99' because it was the first of the new edge styling and kicked off alot of aftermarkert stuff. I'm not sure but since the muscle car era I think the 99' and up were the most powerful performance mustangs other than the specialty vehicles. The 01' and up have better looking hoods and side scoops IMO.

I would say the 01, not just cause I have one. Its the first year of the hood scoop and the new side scoops. Seriously though '99 - '04 all rock. I would have to equal them all out about the same.
