BRENSPEED SAID I DONT NEED A TUNE
I called brenspeed to see what kind of tune they would recommend for my pi swap, the guy Seth, told me that as far as driveability the car would run fine and the factory mass air flow sensor would correct the air/fuel ratio, this must be true because i have been driving it for several days almost a week and absolutly no problems. Today on my way back from getting breakfast i let it rip down the service road, 1st gear, pow 2nd gear, pow 3rd gear and then i let off, I was thrilled at the torque the motor had, and all that from the factory tune, only other mods i have is h-pipe, pullies, and drop in air filter. Rite now im running premium fuel. Im a little worried about the timing, not that its pinging or anything but how does the computer know that the compression ratio is slightly higher? What kind of tune would you get for this setup? And what should be my next mod?

Keep good fuel in it and listen for pinging under heavier loads. I'd go get it custom tuned. Mail order tunes wont help you. Next mod? Gears if you dont have em already

The computer doesn't know, however the OEM tunes are very conservative with timing. Plus you are running 93 octane fuel with an 87 octane tune--that buys you a bit of headroom as well.

The biggest gain will be the MPG, I went from 20-21mpg to 28mpg with a PI engine swap and a Dyno Tune. More noticeable Hp "feel" (260rwhp) and was 13.7 realm after the tune. The first pull with no tune was 242rwhp.
edit: I drove my car for 6 months without a tune with no issues except a lack of usable potential.

Save up for a dyno tune. It will help, my factory tune gave me 25xhp after the pi swap and the dyno tune got me 20 more rwhp, just drive it like it is till you can afford a dyno tune don't waste money on a mailed tune. Also gears will definitly feel good since your on 2.73's right now.
