I've used both. They're both way better than stock but the Tri-ax was a bit more notchy than my MGW.

Noisier and "notchier" are part of the package with short-throw shifters, as compared to the monkey-motion OEM unit.

Noisier because the rubber isolator of the stock unit goes away, and notchier because you cannot shorten the throw without increasing the required effort (this is just plain ol' mechanical principle)--the lessened leverage amplifies the action of the spring loaded shift rod detents = "notchiness".

I got used to this driving the early Miatas, which were panned by many reviewers as being "notchy". However the best description I ever read of the '90 to '93 Miata shifter was that it was "notchy, like the bolt of a high-powered rifle"...

My v6 04 stand had a mgw in it. My stang now has a tri ax in it and i really wish i bought another mgw. Im planinng someday on getting rid of the tri ax and going with mgw or a b&m ripshift. The tri ax is not smooth like the mgw and very clanky!!!

Go with the MGW shifter I have one in my 2003 mustang saleen this company has done exstensive research working alongside with tremec(who builds this transmissions)I have a 3650 transmission so I would probably favor this shifter over any other company just knowing that fact alone.
