K&N FIPK CAI for 99-04 GT
I bought a used K&N FIPK CAI for my 04 GT off ebay and it arrived today. I was wondering if I can get some help from people who have this CAI.
The kit I bought is missing that rubber hose that secures the PCV tube to the CAI tube. I know the size for the tube is 3/8". It did come with the hose for the IAC but it was cut and I think I would have to get a new one. I think the size for that one is 5/8". I'm gonna go down to the store tomorrow but my question is does it have to be the exact same type of hose? Because they look heavy duty. Will any hose of the same inner diameter suffice? Does it have to be high-temp or have any other particuar qualities?
And also, I was going over the instruction how-to on the K&N website and I noticed one part said to attach the filter to the adaptor that I would have to previously screw onto the heat shield with the MAF sensor attached on the other side. When I received my kit, I noticed I didn't see that adaptor. I then looked around the inside of the filter and I THINK the seller just kept the adaptor inside the filter. I tried removing it but it seems to be stuck in there good. I donno if it had just set or did the previous owner use glue or anything. I took a pic to show what I mean...
Can anyone confirm whether this is the adaptor stuck inside the filter?
Thanks,
Brandon

I have the K&N and that is the adapter in the filter so u don't have to worry about that. As for the tubes I don't see why purchased ones wouldn't work as long as u get the correct size and use the clams. They don't have to move anything that would damage something so I say go for it.
P.S. U will love the sound!
