i have a 97 gt and a few extra bucks and i want to create some extra power. i was thinking about geting a performance chip or something. whats the best way to go. and whats a good chip or programmer to get.

chip = fail. get a tuner if your gonna mess with the computer.

i say get a set of 4.10 gears

 

I failed for over 6 years until got a tuner 3 monthd ago.

 

i only have a cold air intake and flowmasters. moneys not much of an issue, but nothing to expensive. and i have a set of 3.73 gears that im thinking about putting in. but this is my daily driver. how much do i loose in 5th gear with 3.37s

 

Don't even waste your time with the chip!!!! It will only **** you off weeks you have it. Eventually you will convince yourself to get gears and the chip will be worthless. Save up for the tuner.

Hypertech makes a good programmer... Few hundred bucks on ebay. Will compliment bolt on parts and exhaust upgrades well.
