Default 2001 Trans Am

My buddy just got an 01 Trans Am, the one with 310 hp, and 340 ft lb i believe. I think i can run with him, what do you guys think? Speaking of Trans Am, i got spanked by a WS6 today i knew he could beat me, but dang do they have some top end. His car is stock with an SLP lid, and mine is bone stock.

I dunno - those dagum LS1's are noo joke! Just about an hour ago comming home on the interstate I had a Maro LT1 roll onto my 6 pretty aggressive. I dropped her into 3rd and ran - we got up to about 110'ish before shutting her down. Either he wasn't trying, or I was faster. Not sure how we stack up against LT1's, but the LS'1s are a whole different story.... (<edit> It was a seemingly bone-stock Z28 LT1, FYI.)

WS6's are very similair in performance to trans ams...especially newer ones with the ls1. You may hang iwth him down low (if not, then get gears and you will) but up top he will rape you hardcore till you mod that beast.

Guess that would explain it - I'm pretty well modded, and he (LT1) was stock. I don't normally expect to win when accepting the challenge from a Maro - kinda surprised myself that I pulled on him like that...

What the shat - run him and see. I'll run damn near anything, most of the time not expecting to win, but more to have fun and a good run. I ran an LS1 in the EXACT SAME spot on the interstate a few weeks back from a (60 mph) roll. He pulled on me pretty good! But it was still a good time and good run. We chatted afterwards and he was a cool cat wif a lightly modded LS1.

My brother has a '95 Ws-6 bone stock except K&N filter. He keeps it in perfect shape with low miles. It's a 6 speed with new sticky tires. It ain't gonna be pretty! He lives 3 hours away so we've never ran them together yet! Maybe when my 4.10's come in Wed I will stand some chance off the line with good reaction time!

hard to tell. there was a stock 2002 WS6 T/A at the track a couple days a go and its best time was a 14 flat. he was the suckiest driver i have ever seen though. his other runs included 2 in the 16's and 1 in the 17's. but they are fast. do not race him on the highway. my buddy ran his when stock SS against a fairly modded 99' Cobra on the highway and stayed even til about 90 where he (the SS)began to pull. (the cobra had 4.10s and regular basic bolt ons we had 4 kids in the car and he (the Cobra) had just the driver so that extra 1k lbs makes a HUGE dif.) they are awesome highway cars for sure.
