Cool DriveTrain Vibrations???

Ever since i have owned my car, i have noticed a pretty significant vibration between 40-50 mph. It doesn't seem to matter if i am in 3-4-5 gear or even have the clutch in. So im assuming its the drive shaft in need of balancing? or perhaps my ignorant self put the drive shaft back on incorrectly after installing my exhaust system last year??? It is enough to make the steering wheel shake a solid 1-1.5 inches up and down. Any thoughts guys? Maybe a good excuse to grab an aluminum drive shaft? ;-) Anyone recommend a good aluminum one just in case i decide to go that route?

Your tires balanced? Run your hand over the tread, does it feel smooth or chopped?

oh ya i forgot to mention that, the vibration was there with my old tires, and i assumed it was them. i just put a new set of rims/tires on and they are balanced, and i just had an alignment, so that rules those out. However, maybe related to the noises i keep getting up front that sound like shot bushings in the shock mounts??? loud popping when the suspension dives or lifts quickly. Also when wheel is cut hard one way it pops repeatedly...
