how to set the TPS ont he TB???
hey guys, just got a new TPS for my cobra, the two little sides in it obv didnt line up and so i twisted the inside of it a little and it lined up but the piece on the throttle body goes thru the center so it wont work obv..the holes dont line up for the screws, its pissin me off and i drive the car daily...can anyone shed anylight on it, i turned the car on and it sputtered and died, but the idle dropped much lower hahah..thanks guys
Yeah the tps is screwed, I had the exact same problem u had. I went to a Ford dealership and bought a new one for $50. I wish I just would have bought a new one in the first place instead of buying multimeters, wire testers, etc because it was a pita trying to adjust a non adjustable tps. lol.
well i knew it wasnt adjsutable..but i coudlnt figure out why it wouldnt go on right...i twisted the throttle and it finally went on but when i relased it it stripped the insdie out...i may bring it to ford and jsut have em install one..emissions is a pin in the azz
You don't have to take it to Ford for it to be installed its very easy. Just remove the two screws and line the new one up with the two holes and tighten the screws. BUT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TOUCH THE ROTATING PART IN THE TPS!! THERE IS SOME GLUE TO HOLD IT IN THE PERFECT POSITION WHEN U INSTALL IT. If u move that and break the glue the tps will be worthless!
