I am interested in getting 4.10 gears. Can anyone tell me how much their fuel economy was affected? I do a lot of interstate driving at 75mph +.

I went from Tx to Ga a few times with my 4.10's and I still managed 300-350 per tank on the highway with the cruise set at 75 mph the whole way and never getting on it.

I got 21 mpg. I drove the highway for a full tank at about 80 and occasional 90.

Everyday driving I get about 20-21mpg.

Didn't change much from stock, just the cost of the gas because of the mods[]

That isn't bad at all, considering the gains from them. What is a good brand of gears and a good place to get them from?

I got mine from mustangtuning.com. The FMS gears are the best. A lot of guys save some money with the motives, but they usually require a bit of shimming to get them right. It took the shop that did my gears 3hrs start to finish. He said he has done motives and it takes atleast 5hrs to get them right and perfer the FMS gears.

IMO they are worth the extra cake.

With 4.10's and good traction you should finish just before the redline in fourth.
Yeah I'm near the redline in fourth when finish and I'm usually around 95-98 mph so I don't know how people are saying you can get well over 100 with 4.10s. Something else I was wondering... as I'm about to finish and approaching the redline my engine feels like it starts to die out on me, like it bogs down. I think it might be the cause of me running 2.06 sixty foot times and still not breaking into the 13s (14.1 is my best). Would this problem have anything to do with my rev limiter?

That's because you have the older tranny like me. I have 373's and I top out at like 110 in fourth gear. You are hitting the reve limiter and it's cutting the fuel off.....that's why I didn't want 410's in this car. Maybe you should shift to 5th gear at the end of the quarter??[&:]

Yeah... the T45's dont have such a tall gear as the 3650's do. 4.10's are the perfect track gear for a bolt-on GT. I was trapping at 105-106 in mine and was just about to hit the redline... not the rev limiter.

Well if it's not the rev limiter then why does it feel like the engine starts to give out when i approach redline? I feel like 13s are damn near impossible when I know I should be running them. When I ran a 14.2 the last time out I was pulling 2.2 sixty foots, then yesterday I poll damn near 2 flat and I only get 1 tenth?
