Default Front Suspension Problem

awhile back i had a problem with the my front suspension and it turned out to be my caster/camber kit and have replaced that and all was well. and now lately anytime i hit a bump it sounds and feels like the front end of the car is going to fall apart, and it bottoms out on something, along with the front end being very bouncy, any ideas what could this be? im guessing my struts?

First, what kind of front suspension do you have? stock? or do you have a tubular k-member/a-arms and coilovers?? or aftermarket springs?

do you have aftermarket struts? are they adjustable?

i know the car was lowered on aftermarket springs and as far as everything else i believe its stock and the struts are not adjustable i know that but other than that im not too sure about them i havent actually looked at them fully yet I plan on doing that tonight

Take a look at the struts. make sure that there's bump stops. might want to look into maybe getting new struts. not sure about stock suspension setup, but i had this problem with my car. running too little camber caused my strut assembly to hit the strut tower, besides the fact that my springs were too long, and i needed to adjust the strut settings properly. but i have coilovers so its a whole different story.

ok so i took off my front wheel and was looking at it and as I was told bump stops are rubber pieces on the struts, and well there is none on mine..could that be the cause? and also on the springs the second coil from the top looks as if it was rubbing on something on the side by the wheel?

check your clearance's, lock to lock - meaning, turn the wheel completely left and right, as well as straight ahead, and get under there and check, both with the car on the ground AND in the air.

Bump stops should be used, especially if your running lowering springs. if not you run the risk of killing your strut (by bottoming out). however, some struts have built in bump stops (Bilsteins, dunno about others?) buts its better to run extra ones if you dont now, to prevent damage.

ya i did that and my brake line was running the spring pretty bad when it turned but didnt think it made the noise because i fixed it and it was still there, and as far as i see the struts look stock but the car has been lowered, and there is no bump stops that i can see can they be purchased by themselves?

Well if its not your shock bottoming out, Are their any bad bushings, what about your tie-rod end-links? and what about the ball joints in the caster camber plates. All of those can make a binding or popping noise.

I haven't checked any of those yet and would that cause it to be bouncy too? Because it has alot of movement in the front end over bumps in the road
