Default P0406 Exhaust gas recirculation sensor a circuit high

Well I just had a Plenum installed and drove off noticing the ses was on so checked codes and this is what i got. I researched and it turns out it is being cause by the EGR. The EGR mounts to the plenum...the part mustang muscle just installed for me. So I will have to contact them and see whats up. Just seeing if anyone has any input on the matter.

Make sure the vacuum hoses are connected to your DPFE sensor (it's back by the firewall, 2 little hoses connected to the bottom). You may need to replace it, but I think they're inexpensive.

Like I always say, someone yell at me if I'm giving f'ed up advice.

well i actually just off the phone with them and you may be right. They said to check and make sure they hooked all of the hoses back up securely. Also they said that it can go out but is cheap just as you said. So i hope both of you are right and they arent giving me some kind of run around. Thanks a lot for the info and i will post if i fix the problem and what it was.

Good luck and don't worry I wouldn't purposely give anyone the runaround, haha. Maybe hear from someone else on here before spending $$ because I think it's a common issue and most of the users on here humble me with their knowledge of these cars.

okay i figured it out. Not exactly sure on which sensor it was but if anyone needs to know i could probably figure it out with the haynes, but it was simply a connection to a sensor unhooked behind the plenum towards the firewall. clipped it in, cleared the code, let it run and no light.

It was most likely the DPFE or EGR solenoid unplugged... Was it a cylinder looking valve with 2 small vac hoses or a rectangle looking black box with 2 larger vac hoses?
