Default Batter relocation?

Has anybody done this mod? I would imagine it would create a big improvement in weight distribution.

i did but only cause it was necessary.. my blower's aftercooler tank sits where the battery used to. and yeah, any weight you can move to the back wheels is definitely a plus.

Good mod for sure but there's a lot more to it than I thought, if you want it to look good. Here's some pics..........

I personally would just get a drycell odyssey battery. Lighter, safer, smaller. No need to fumble with the wires and etc to the back. The only reason I would relocate the battery to the back is if I needed the space for the aftercooler tank.

.

I ran the Odyssey battery for several years. Here's my problem with them.
Unable to run bottle heater without engine running. Car would not start after 5-7 days of sitting. Car would not start on mornings when the temp was below 32* or so. I took the SOB out last fall to install my OEM battery for the winter and dropped it on the garage floor. So, I could replace it and live with the problems or do the relocation. I moved the OEM battery to the trunk and solved all my problems plus removed weight from the front and placed it in the rear where it can actually help.

JayC, that's a real nice touch adding the cutoff switch in the center of the license plate like that.

Thanks, I was really hesitant to cut a hole in the car but at least I can cover it easily with a new plate .... lol
