Default AC questions

So my Ac took a crap last year but it was almost winter when that happened so i just put it off. Well i go to the dealer to have a look and tell me whats wrong. They tell me my condenser imploded and sent metal shards all through the AC system and they wanted 2,100$ to fix it. So i told them they can go screw themselves in a very nice way. I am looking for a complete list of parts for the AC system. I already know i need a condenser, accumulator and evap. But they said i need new lines and all that stuff. So any help is appreciated.

Buy a new compressor and refill. That's it. Tell the Stealership to suck your PooPoo Platter.

If there is indeed metal shavings, you atleast will need a new accumulator/dryer, condensor (they said its broken right) and compressor. Dont forget to replace the orifice. A/C systems can be rough man. You could get away with replacing just the condensor (the little radiator looking thing) if that is indeed the problem. If theres metal then it could eventually work its way into other components and tear **** up

Did they disassemble the A/C system to know for sure there is indeed metal parts in the system? Or did they inspect it for 5 minutes and say that's what it is?
